 Matched
By Ally Condie

Thesis statement:
In matched, Ally Condie shows how the society limits choices and forces people to rebel.
Directional statement:
Cassia grows and accepts, understands and questions, and does something to make a change.
Three points:
1: growing up and knowing what’s right
·         -“Your marriage contract will take place when you are twenty-one. Studies have shown that the fertility of both men and women peaks at the age of twenty-four. The matching system has been constructed to allow those who match to have their children near this age- providing for the highest likelihood of healthy offspring.”(18)
·         -“I am part of the matching department, authorized to deal with information malfunctions, since matching is so important to the society, it is very well regulated.”(44)
·         -“Please consider carefully weather you are a good candidate to be matched. Remember, the singles are equally important in the society. As you are aware the current leader of the society is a single.”(46)
 2: Questioning and arguing
·         -“Don’t you let yourself think about winning?’ ‘I always think about winning”(237)
·         -“But if the system is wrong, false and unreal, then what about the love between my parents? If their love was born because of the society, can it still be real, good and right?”(222)
·         -“If he came with me and stood there together, I would learn even more about Ky.”(186)
3: Doing what is believed to be right.
·         -“To a new beginning’ I say to myself, and I shift my feet the tiniest bit so I crush the tablet; it bleeds beneath my feet. “(325)
·         -“They told you about the life expectancy with the positions, didn’t they? That’s why you put me where you did.”(313)
·         -“It is better to sit quickly before I am unable to say it at all. ‘I think that I am falling in love with someone else.’ Almost before I’m finished he is shaking his head saying no.”(305)

My Character Buzz Lightyear

We have all seen the Disney Toy Story that is full of fun, giggles and adventure, and out of  all the characters, Buzz Lightyear is the best character of them all. He is a toy space explorer that believes he is meant for a higher purpose and is determined to get more out of life. He tries to explain and convince everyone of his friends that they should do the same. In the story he is a birthday present for Andy and becomes the new favorite. Then he meets a group of toys that have a routine life and changes everything. Buzz leaves and ends up bringing them all with him where the adventures begin. He is one of those characters that tries until there is nothing left and still will carry on, because he cares about his friends and never leaves a man behind and is the hero type that can get lucky when in need. He is a hero and has fun doing it, by understanding whats important. That's why he is my favorite character!

Mud Dobbers- My Area Of Intrest!!!

Many people haven't the slightest idea what I'm talking about when I say Mud Dobbers. And I guess that's for a good reason, since they aren't found just anywhere. They are rocks. But not just any rocks, they are formed out of clay and can take some very odd shapes and sizes. And they take time to form, I mean a lot of time, like years. If I could show you i would, but my grandmother grew up calling them mud dobbers, the the official name, I have never found out. And so I cannot show you. But believe me when I say that each one is unique and fun. And are so much fun to find and try and figure out what they look like. Most of the time you got to dig for them. They usually sit right beneath the surface on banks and shores with clay close by. Some you can find a little further away  from the banks, on dry land, but these are often molded into rings and small rippled ones that are clean and easier to get, but also harder to find since they blend. I have collected many with my Grandmother and is one of my quirky hobbies. and now that you know what a Mud Dobber is you can look high and low to try and find the most hidden rock that I know of. Good luck!

Media Analysis Assignment
ByAmyMcNolty

The main purpose of the Rip A Remix Manifest film was to make people awareness  of the big corporations and how the laws that they provide are preventing us from building creativity on the past. There are many things within this film that suggests bias behavior in many ways. Such as the author explaining that the major corporations are collecting the profit of those that have built on the past and have been caught and sued for it, or how a day care was sued for having Mickey Mouse characters on the walls of the building. Because of the bias views  in the film  the proof of the major corporations, are false and are made out to look like the bad guys that are only trying to stop you.

The bias of the author is seen when the one man had taken the character Mickey Mouse from Disney, and made him into a character that was against the corporation. He was able to transform a beloved character into the one thing that the corporation was against. He did this not to only make his point on how the corporation didn't have him under the control, but also how he could rebel using the very weapons that the were trying to protect to fight.

Girl Talk has now become more and more known because of his ability to create new songs and beats out of the old loved classics. He is building on the past to make the future. He is doing the same thing that Walt Disney did to create his characters, that is we as people need to build on the past! many people ask rhetorical questions like "Why don't you legalize the music so everyone can listen to it?" says fans. But to make what they do legal, they would need to pay thousands and thousands of dollars, and go totally broke for a single song. Which, I admit needs to change. It shouldn't be so hard to create something that others love so much and be able to have access to it. When girl talk was the main subject in the film, the mood varied from happiness and fun when they were showing the parties and the music, to angry and rebellious, when Girl Talk was being threatened to be sued for living the dream of theirs and others.

All the major corporations are not out to get you, like the film suggests. They don't make hundreds of laws just so they can collect the money that you pay for braking them. Ya, ok, its too hard to just create in this world, some things need to change, but things aren't going to get easier and less chaotic by letting people get what they want. So even though the film was trying to convince us that we as the public, as people, need to be heard more, to have more freedom. I don't think so. By changing the things that we know are problems, doesn't necessarily make it easier, yet more complicated.
